Tooth-Colored Fillings

Tooth-colored fillings are great for filling cavities and decay in teeth. We typically make these from a composite which can be colored to match your natural teeth. This way, if the filling is visible in your smile, the filling will not be noticeable.

Composite fillings are a mixture of acrylic resin and finely ground glass-like particles that produce a tooth-colored restoration. Composites can also be “bonded” or adhesively held in a cavity, often allowing the dentist to make a more conservative repair to the tooth.

Fillings are needed when you have a mildly cracked or decaying tooth. Dr. Schomaker will clean the affected area and fill it with the resin. This will harden and protect the tooth from further damage or decay.
